Avokadoda Klonal Anaç Kullanımının Nedenleri ve Dünyada Yaygın Olarak Kullanılan Klonal Anaçlar

Abstract

Avokadonun ticari çoğaltımında, vejetatif çoğaltım yöntemlerinden aşı ile çoğaltım yaygın olarak kullanılmaktadır. Bu çoğaltım yönteminde, anaç olarak tohum ya da klonal anaçlar kullanılmaktadır. Bununla birlikte, avokado yetiştiriciliği yapan ülkelerin çoğu hala tohum anacı kullanmaktadır. Bunun en önemli nedeni, üretim maliyetinin klonal anaçlara göre çok düşük olmasıdır. Ancak tohum anaçları kullanıldığında meydana gelen genetik açılımlar nedeniyle ağaçların büyüme, gelişme ve verimlilikleri açısından homojenlik sağlanamamakta, biyotik/abiyotik stres koşullarına dayanıklılık değişkenlik göstermekte ve kültürel işlemler zorlaşmaktadır. Bu nedenlerle klonal anaç kullanımı önem kazanmaktadır. Klonal anaçlar arasında en popüler anaçlar, ‘Dusa’, ‘Duke 7’ ve ‘Bounty’dir. Klonal anaçlar ise yaygın olarak ABD (Kaliforniya) ve Güney Afrika’da kullanılmaktadır. Dünyada avokado yetiştiriciliği yapan ülkeler arasında iklim ve toprak şartları açısından farklılıklar bulunmakta ve anaçlar değişkenlik göstermektedir. Bu nedenle, avokado yetiştiriciliğinde henüz ideal bir anaç bulunmamaktadır. Bu konu üzerinde ıslah çalışmalarına hala yoğun olarak devam etmektedir. Bu derlemede, avokadoda klonal anaç kullanımının nedenlerine ve dünyada yaygın olarak kullanılan klonal anaçlara değinilmiştir.
