GENİŞLETİLMİŞ MİKRO ÖĞRETİM YAŞANTILARI HAKKINDA MATEMATİK ÖĞRETMENİ ADAYLARININ GÖRÜŞLERİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, matematik öğretmeni adaylarının genişletilmiş mikro öğretim yaşantılarına dayalı görüşlerini alarak genişletilmiş mikro öğretim uygulamalarının öğretmen yeterliliklerine katkısını incelemektir. Çalışmaya 21 ortaöğretim matematik öğretmeni adayı katılmıştır. Öğretmen adayları öğretmenlik uygulaması için gittikleri okulda genişletilmiş mikro öğretim tekniğini kullanarak ders sunumlarını yapmışlardır. Bu uygulama 8 hafta süresince yapılmıştır. Uygulama sonrasında rastgele seçilen 10 matematik öğretmeni adayı ile yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme metoduyla görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Görüşmeler sonunda matematik öğretmen adaylarının kendilerine daha fazla güvendikleri, genişletilmiş mikro öğretim hakkında olumlu görüş belirttikleri görülmüştür. Elde edilen bulgular, öğretmen adaylarının genişletilmiş mikro öğretim uygulamalarından hoşlandıklarını, bu uygulama ile öğretme becerileri hakkında bilgi edindiklerini göstermiştir. Aynı zamanda öğretmen adaylarının öz güvenlerinin ve öğretme becerilerinin arttığı görülmüştür. Genişletilmiş mikro öğretim uygulamaları, öğretmen adaylarının öğretmede güçlü ve zayıf yönlerini değerlendirmelerine fırsat vermiştir. Görüşmeler sonunda ayrıca genişletilmiş mikro öğretim uygulamalarının öğretmen adaylarının planlama, zamanlama, değişik örnekler verme, soru sorma, sınıf yönetimi, materyal kullanımı, fiziksel görünüm bakımından önemli bir şekilde gelişmelerini sağladığı görülmüştür. Genişletilmiş mikro öğretim uygulamalarının ortaöğretim matematik öğretmenliği programlarında kullanılabilecek önemli bir teknik olduğu görülmüştür.

PRE-SERVICE MATHEMATICS TEACHER PERSPECTIVES ABOUT THE EXPANDED MICROTEACHING EXPERIENCES

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the perspectives of pre-service mathematics teachers for expanded microteaching, and was to investigate the contribution of expanded microteaching on preservice mathematics teachers. 21 pre-service secondary mathematics teachers were included in this study. The pre-service mathematics teachers lectured mathematics through expanded microteaching at the high school they were assigned to. The duration of the study was eight weeks. At the end of this process, it was made semi-structured interview with 10 pre-service teachers who taught mathematics through expanded microteaching at the high school. After the interview, it was observed that pre-service mathematics teachers were more confident and positive towards the expanded microteaching. Findings showed that pre-service mathematics teachers enjoyed the expanded microteaching experiences, learned about their teaching abilities. Also their self-confidence and teaching skills increased. The expanded microteaching practice allowed them to assess their instructional strengths and weaknesses. Also the results of the interview showed that expanded microteaching has significant improvements on planning, timing, giving different examples, asking questions, class management, effective material use, and preservice mathematics teachers’ physical appearance. It is seen that the use of expanded microteaching in pre-service secondary mathematics teacher education programs can be a valuable instructional tool.
