SOSYAL DUYGUSAL DEĞERLENDİRME ARACININ (ITSEA) FARKLI SOSYO-EKONOMİK DÜZEYLERDE UYGULANMASI

Year 2008, Volume: 6 Issue: 1, 41 - 61, 01.03.2008

Abstract

APPLICATION OF THE INFANT-TODDLER SOCIAL & EMOTIONAL ASSESSMENT TOOL (ITSEA) AT VARIOUS SOCIO-ECONOMICAL LEVELS

Year 2008, Volume: 6 Issue: 1, 41 - 61, 01.03.2008

Abstract

In this study; by considering that it shall bring in an unbiased method in order to
make contribution in determining normal development characteristics and problems of the
children with regard to social-emotional development, it has been researched whether results
of the application of the Infant-Toddler Social & Emotional Assessment Tool (ITSEA) on
Turkish children of 12-36 months have differed according to the social level or not. The
environment of the study consists of children of 12-36 months, who are attending to day
nurseries located in the city center of Ankara, and their parents. Sampling consists of 253
parents and children at different socio-economical levels, who have been attending to schools
selected via random sampling method. Turkish adaptation of the Infant-Toddler Social &
Emotional Assessment Tool for Babies and Children of 12-36 months has been used as the
data collecting tool in the study. As a result, the fact that alpha values happened out to be
high according to the socio-economical level has proven that inner-consistency is high.
