Abstract

Sosyal hayatın farklı alanlarında yaşanan ve gözlenen durumlar, demokratik tartışma becerilerini bireylerin yeterince kazanamadığını göstermektedir. Bu olumsuz durumun önemli bir nedeni bireylerin tartışma etkinliğine ve bu etkinliğin amaç, süreç ve sonuç boyutlarına ilişkin yanlış tutum ve davranışlara sahip olmasıdır. Bu çalışmada, öğretim elemanlarının tartışma etkinliğine ilişkin sahip oldukları olumsuz tutum ve davranışlar ile bu boyutlar arasındaki ilişki irdelenmiştir. Çalışmanın örneklemini eğitim fakültesi öğretim elemanı ve öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Verilerin çözümünde aritmetik ortalama, t testi ve korelasyon testinden yararlanılmıştır. Çalışma sonunda bu boyutlar içerisinde yer alan olumsuz tutum ve davranışlara öğretim elemanlarının önemli ölçüde sahip olduğu, öğrencilerin genel olarak öğretim elemanlarını daha olumsuz değerlendirdiği ve boyutlar arasında pozitif ve anlamlı bir ilişkinin olduğu belirlenmiştir.

THE ASSESSMENT OF INSTRUCTORS’ ATTITUDES AND BEHAVIORS IN DISCUSSION ACTIVITIES

Abstract

The experienced and observed situations in different environment of social life have showed that individuals have not acquired enough democratic discussion skills. One of the important reasons of this negative situation is that individuals have negative attitudes and behaviors related to discussion activity and its aims, processes and results. In this research it has been investigated what the negative attitudes and behaviors of lecturers and their relations are. The exemplification in this research is occupied by the means of the lecturers and the students in the faculty of education. Arithmetic means, t test and correlation test have been used to analyze the data. At the end of the research it has been determined that the lecturers acquired a great deal of negative attitudes and behaviors, the students evaluated the lecturers negatively and there were positive and meaningful relations among the subjects.
