Abstract

Öğretmen adayları meslekle ilgili kavramsal bilgilerle donatılarak meslekî gelişim açısından deneyim kazanmaları amacıyla okullarda uygulama yaparlar. Bu uygulama sırasında okullarda bulunan uygulama öğretmenleri ile sürekli olarak etkileşim hâlindedirler. Ancak, okullardaki uygulama öğretmenleri bu etkileşim sırasında kendilerinden istenileni yerine getirebilmekte midir? Bu ölçek geliştirme çalışması öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik uygulamaları sırasında uygulama öğretmenlerinden beklentilerini ve uygulama öğretmenlerinin bu beklentileri yerine getirip getiremediğini saptamak için yapılmıştir. Eğitim fakültelerinin son sınıfında öğrenim gören 693 üniversite öğrencisinden elde edilen veriler ışığında 25 maddelik 5’li Likert tipi ölçek oluşturulmuştur. Bu ölçek, hâlen uygulama öğretmenliği yapan bireylerin yeterliliklerinin belirlenerek, gelecekte yapılacak uygulama öğretmenliği görevlendirmelerine ışık tutacaktır.

SUPERVISING TEACHER COMPETENCY SCALE (STCS)

Abstract

Prospective teachers are equipped with the conceptual knowledge regarding the teaching profession and sent to practice to gain professional experience in schools. During this practicum period, they are in prolonged interaction with their supervising teachers. However, do supervising teachers fulfill the expected obligations during the interaction? This scale development study was conducted to underline the teacher candidates’ demands from their supervising teachers and whether the supervising teachers meet these demands. In light of the data gathered from 693 university students from different schools of education, a 25-item Likert type scale was constructed. This scale may serve to determine supervisory skills of the present supervising teachers and to shed light for future supervising teacher assignments.
