Changes in Students’ PBL Session Performances Throughout The Years in Dokuz Eylül University School of Medicine

Abstract

The aim of the present study is to compare PBL session performances of Dokuz Eylül University School of Medicine (DEUSM) students in their first and third years. The Tutorial Student Assessment Form ratings attributed to the 2000-2001 academic year’s firstyear students are compared with the same group of students’ 2002-2003 academic year ratings as third-year students. This form, is a five-point scale consisting of 20 items grouped under four main titles; knowledge use, reasoning & self-directed learning, communication skills and assessment skills. Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Öğrencilerinin Probleme Dayalı Öğrenim Oturumlarındaki Performanslarının Yıllar İçerisindeki Değişimi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi’nde (DEÜTF) aynı grup öğrencilerin Dönem I’de Probleme Dayalı Öğrenim (PDÖ) oturumlarındaki performanslarının Dönem III’teki performansları ile karşılaştırılması amaçlanmıştır. 2000-2001 akademik yılında Dönem I’de olan öğrencilerin Probleme Dayalı Öğrenim-Öğrenci Etkinlik Değerlendirme (PDÖ-ÖED) Formu puanlarıyla aynı öğrencilerin 2002-2003 akademik yılına ait Dönem III puanları karşılaştırılmıştır. Form, 5’li Likert tipi bir ölçektir ve 20 maddeden oluşmaktadır; maddeler dört ana başlık altında toplanmıştır; bilginin kullanımı, sorgulama-kendi kendine öğrenme, iletişim becerileri ve değerlendirme becerileri. İstatistiksel analiz olarak bağımlı gruplarda T test kullanılmıştır.
