Abstract
In this research, soilcepellent aftertreatments was applied to different types of upholstery fabrics and the effects of these finishing treatments on the soiling effect of the upholstery fabric was assessed. It is known that hand skin dirts called seburn tend to soil the upholstery fabrics more during usage. So, a kind of synthetic seburn was prepared. A soiling test method was developed which presented by a direct contact with slightly dirty hands. The upholstery fabrics treated with the above mentioned aftertreatmen& were dirtied according to the developed method and the soiling degree of the samples were evaluated by Datacolor DC 3881 Cornputrized spectralphotometer with IRIS program.
