The degree of whiteness or yellowness of some of the important wools of domestic sheep races that innke up nearly 80% of our sheep stock has been investigated in this work. The samples for each of the three races have been taken for this purpose from only the sides o the body and the santples have been wnshed and dried. In order to determine the degress of whiteness oc the samples thus prepared for measurement, the X, Y, Z sfandart colour values have been measured under a light of D 65/10' type using the R F C 16 colorimetre, and the whiteness or yellowness degrees have been calculated from the X,Y,Z valuer obtained, according to the formulae of BERGER, DIN and PONCHEL. It has been found that the values of the degree of whitness of wools ow "Daghf" sheep vanj between 33.4 and 45.6, and those of the wools of "Akkaraman" between 33,9 and 30.3. Contrny to this the "Morkaraman" wools have given vent low, or even negative values. The yellowness degrees of "Akkaramnn" wools, according to DIN norms, have given vey low, or even negative values.

Buna kargdtk Morkaraman yiinleri fok diigiik, hatta negatif degerler vermiStir. Akkaraman yiinlerinin DIN'e gore sartltk dereceleri Daflt~lardan daha yiiksek bulunmugtur. so nu^ olarak Daglt~ yiinlerinin Akkaraman yiinlerinden daha beyaz oldugu anlagtlmrgtzr. Bununln beraber aralarzndaki fark, bu yiinlerin birbirlerinden ayn boyanmalarznt veya ayrt muamele edilmelerini gerektirecek kadar biiyiik degildir. Morkaraman yiinleri ise diger yiinlerle uyum gostermektedir.
