Adding Life to the Years: Aging from Meleis' Perspective

Year 2021, Volume: 2 Issue: 2, 78 - 87, 27.12.2021

Abstract

With the development of technology, the average life expectancy has increased. Correspondingly, the rate of the elderly population in the total population has been increased day by day. It is very important to understand old age, to know the changes that occur in old age and to know the physical, mental, psychological and social characteristics of old age. Old age is a transition period. Supporting the elderly person in this transition period will provide a healthy transition period. Effective nursing care offered in old age will enable the individual to adopt her/his new role and have an active aging period. In this article, it is aimed to examine the nursing care applied within the framework of Meleis' transition theory in old age.

Yıllara Hayat Katabilmek: Meleis’in Perspektifinden Yaşlılık

Year 2021, Volume: 2 Issue: 2, 78 - 87, 27.12.2021

Abstract

Bu makalede yaşlılık döneminde Meleis’in geçiş kuramı çerçevesinde uygulanan hemşirelik bakımının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır.
