Journal of Turkish Legal History accepts only manuscripts that have not been previously published, are not under consideration elsewhere, and have been approved by all authors.
Research articles and research notes are subject to an initial editorial screening (including compliance with the journal's formatting requirements, scope, and plagiarism check). If deemed suitable, they are evaluated through a double-blind peer review process by at least two independent reviewers. The similarity index must not exceed 20%. The final publication decision is made by the Editorial Board in light of the reviewers' reports and the editorial evaluation.
Translations, book reviews, and other non-peer-reviewed submissions are evaluated solely by the Editorial Board with regard to their scholarly quality and editorial suitability.
Throughout the evaluation process, authors, reviewers, and editors are required to comply with the Journal's publication ethics principles.
Withdrawal Policy
Withdrawal of manuscripts submitted to the Journal is permitted only in exceptional circumstances. Manuscripts that have entered the peer review process may be withdrawn only upon submission of a signed withdrawal request by the corresponding author and approval by the Editorial Board. Manuscripts that have not yet entered peer review may be withdrawn upon the written request of the author(s) with the approval of the Editor-in-Chief.
Manuscripts that have reached the publication stage or have already been published may be withdrawn only in cases of ethical misconduct, serious scientific error, or legal necessity, subject to the approval of the Editorial Board. Records relating to withdrawn manuscripts are retained in the Journal's archives.
Editorial Board Policies
Members of the Editorial Board may not participate in any stage of the evaluation process for their own peer-reviewed submissions.
Peer-reviewed works by the same author may not be published in the same issue or in consecutive issues. A new peer-reviewed submission by an author may not be published within the two issues following the issue in which the author's previous peer-reviewed work appeared.
Translations, book reviews, and other non-peer-reviewed submissions are subject only to Editorial Board review. No publication frequency or issue limitations apply to such submissions by either Editorial Board members or other authors.
