Author Guidelines

Preparation and Submission of Manuscripts
1. TIRAD accepts original academic manuscripts written in Turkish or English.
2. All correspondence regarding submitted manuscripts is conducted exclusively through the DergiPark system with the corresponding author who uploads the manuscript.
3. The scientific, ethical, and legal responsibility for submitted manuscripts belongs entirely to the author(s).
4. Manuscripts must be submitted only via the DergiPark system. Submissions sent through other channels will not be considered.
5. Manuscripts must be prepared in an up-to-date Microsoft Word (.docx) format.
6. A Copyright Transfer Form signed by all authors must be uploaded to the system as a separate file. The signed form must be scanned and submitted. Click for copyright assignment form.
7. An author may publish a maximum of one article per calendar year (excluding special issues). In co-authored works, an author may appear in no more than two publications within the same year.
8. Manuscripts must be prepared in accordance with the journal template. Click for article template.
9. Except for book reviews, Turkish manuscripts must follow this order: Title – Author information – Turkish Abstract and Keywords – English Title – English Abstract and Keywords – Introduction – Main Text – Conclusion – Extended English Abstract – References.
10. Except for book reviews, English manuscripts must follow this order: English Title – Author information – English Abstract and Keywords – Turkish Title – Turkish Abstract and Keywords – Introduction – Main Text – Conclusion – Extended Turkish Abstract – References.
11. Articles must be between 6,500 and 8,000 words, excluding the extended abstract.
12. Manuscripts must include an abstract of 180–250 words and an extended abstract of 600–800 words.
13. The Turkish abstract must include 5 Turkish keywords, and the English abstract must include 5 English keywords representing the content of the manuscript.
14. All submissions undergo an initial editorial screening before peer review. Manuscripts that do not comply with formatting and writing guidelines are returned without being sent to reviewers.
15. Book - film reviews must be between 2,500 and 3,500 words. Click here for the template.
16. Authors are required to declare the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools in their work.


In-Text Citations and References
1. TIRAD accepts APA (American Psychological Association) 6th or 7th edition for in-text citations and reference formatting. Authors must use the same edition consistently throughout the manuscript.
2. In-text citations must be generated automatically using a reference management system such as Microsoft Word’s citation tool or Zotero. Manuscripts containing manually formatted citation systems will not be considered for review.
3. The reference list must likewise be generated automatically through reference management software and must fully comply with the selected APA edition.
