EL CVn Türü Yıldızların Özellikleri ve Gruplama Çalışması

Year 2023, , 406 - 410, 31.12.2023
https://doi.org/10.55064/tjaa.1198333

Abstract

EL CVn (EL Canum Venaticorum) türü çift yıldızlar Algol türü örten çift yıldızlar olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Sistemlerin baş bileşeni A veya F tayf sınıfı bir anakol yıldızıdır. Düşük kütleli (~0.2 Mʘ) helyum beyaz cüce öncesi (pre-He WD) yıldız ise sistemin yoldaş bileşenidir (Roestel et al., 2018).

Features and Grouping Study of EL CVn Type Stars

Year 2023, , 406 - 410, 31.12.2023

Abstract

Binary stars of the EL CVn (EL Canum Venaticorum) type are Algol-type eclipsing binary stars. The principal component of the systems is an A or F spectral class main sequence star. A low-mass (~0.2 Mʘ) helium pre-white dwarf (pre-He WD) star is the companion component of the system (Roestel et al., 2018). The characteristic light curves of EL CVn binary stars are the total eclipse primary minimum and the partial eclipse secondary minimum. Such stars are formed by long-term stable mass transfer between low-mass stars in close pairs (Maxted et al., 2013). In this study, 50 EL CVn binary systems were grouped according to the parameters of the stars and their light curve shapes in order to examine the possible subtypes of EL CVn binary systems together. It is clear that the light curves of such systems can be grouped under two groups from a visual point of view. Wide Angle Search for Planets (WASP) and Palomar Observatory (PALOMAR) data were generally used in the investigations.
