Writing Rules

Articles submitted to the journal for publication must be prepared with journal's own LaTeX template. The package contains all necessary information as well as a sample article which can be filled by copy-pasting from your own work text:

  • Please download the template from the following link: TJAA-v2.1
  • It is possible to use Overleaf for writing TJAA manuscripts. TJAA template is available in the section of Academic Journals of the Overleaf.

Manuscripts can be written in English (preferred) or Turkish. However, in either case authors should provide meta-data (title, abstract, key words) in both languages.

  • The abstract should contain at least 100 words.
  • Turkish manuscripts should contain an English abstract.
  • A minimum of 3 keywords should be provided with the manuscript.
  • Keywords must be selected from this list which is common to the major astronomical and astrophysical journals.

Three forms have to be submitted along the full text manuscript: Copyright Transfer Form, Conflict of Interest Form, Author Contribution Form.

The following article types can be submitted to TJAA:

Type
Description
EditorialThis type is special to TJAA Boards which is used for publishing news and announcements about the journal.
Research ArticleUse this type for detailed studies reporting original research. They include hypothesis, background study, methods, results, interpretation of findings, and a discussion of possible implications.
Review ArticleReview articles provide critical and constructive analysis of existing published literature in a field. They’re usually structured to provide a summary of existing literature, analysis, and comparison. Often, they identify specific gaps or problems and provide recommendations for future research.
Research NoteUse this type for sharing works in progress, comments and clarifications, null results, and timely reports of observations (such as the spectrum of a supernova), as well as results that wouldn’t traditionally merit a full paper (such as contributions to the monitoring of variable sources, eclipse and transit timing etc.).
DissertationSummary of completed graduate studies (M.Sc. and Ph.D.).
Conference PaperUse this type for works which are presented in a national or international conference, symposia, workshop etc.
Meeting AbstractAbstract of a Conference Paper.
CorrectionA Correction notice will be issued when it is necessary to correct an error or omission which can impact the interpretation of the article. Examples include mislabeling of a figure, missing key information on funding or competing interests of the authors.

TJAA is a publication of Turkish Astronomical Society (TAD).
