Abstract

Giriş: Bu araştırmada, COVID-19 pandemi sürecinde yaşlıların bilinçli farkındalık, başa çıkma tutumları ve kişisel iyi oluşlarının değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı tipte olan araştırma, Nisan-Haziran 2020 tarihlerinde, Osmaniye Merkez ilçesinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemine 536 yaşlı birey alınmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri Tanıtıcı Bilgi Formu, Bilinçli Farkındalık Ölçeği, Başa Çıkma Tutumları Değerlendirme Ölçeği ve Kişisel İyi Oluş İndeksi-Yetişkin formu ile toplanmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan yaşlıların yaş ortalaması 70,01±6,20 yıl, %55,4’ü kadın, %83’ü evli ve %56,5’i çekirdek ailede yaşamaktadır.

Abstract

Introduction: In this research, it was aimed to evaluate the mindful attention awareness, coping attitudes and personal well-being of the olders in covid-19 pandemic. Method: This descriptive research was carried out with 536 older people. The data were collected using the Introductory Information Form, Mindful Attention Awareness Scale, R-COPE and the Personal Well-Being Index-Adult form. Results: The average age of the participants in the research was 70.01±6.20 years, 55.4% were women, 83% were married and 56.5% were living with their families. The mean Mindful Attention Awareness Scale total score is 57.25±15.34, the total score averages of Personal Well-Being Index-Adult form is 52.7±13, and the total score average of the R-COPE was 80.85±12.52. While there was a positive and significant relationship between the Mindful Attention Awareness Scale total score averages of the older people and having children, the mean scores of the R-COPE, and the mean scores of the Personal Well-Being Index-Adult form (p<0.001), there was a significant negative correlation between the mean scores of the Mindful Attention Awareness Scale Self Punishment and Avoidance- sub-dimension (p<0.05). There was a significant negative correlation between the total mean Mindful Attention Awareness Scale score of the older and being female, and age (p<0.05). While the PWBI-A total average score of the older people who have a child and social security increases significantly, it decreases significantly in those who have chronic diseases and lower income level (p<0.05). Conclusion: As a result of the study; in the COVID-19 pandemic, it was seen that the increase in the mindful attention awareness of the older people, increases their attitudes towards adaptive coping with stress and their personal well-being. Having personal resources affect their level of coping with stress in older people
