Usage Opportunities of Lupine (Lupinus angustifolius L.)

Abstract

Lupine is an annual herbaceous plant belonging to the Leguminosae family. Some species have begun to be cultivated 3000 years ago. Most of the wild species grow around the Mediterranean and in North America. Some species are planted in fields for soil improvement as green manure or in gardens as ornamental plants. Its seeds are generally used as provender. Turkey abounds in terms of both cultivated species and their wild forms and lupine species cultivated for limited purposes. The plant which is also known as lupine, is becoming more and more important due to its soil-improving, plant-preserving (bioinsecticide) and growth-promoting (biostimulator) properties, especially in organic farming practices carried out for natural and healthy nutrition, as well as its use in human and animal nutrition. In this study, the usage opportunities of the lupine plant were examined under the titles.

Acı Bakla (Lupinus angustifolius L.) Bitkisinin Kullanım Olanakları

Abstract

Acı bakla (Lupinus angustifolius L.), Leguminosae familyasına bağlı, tek yıllık, otsu bir bitki cinsidir. 3000 yıl önce bazı türlerinin tarımına başlanmıştır. Yabani türlerinin çoğu Akdeniz çevresinde ve Kuzey Amerika'da yetişir. Bazı türleri yeşil gübre olarak toprak ıslahı amacıyla tarlalara ya da süs bitkisi olarak bahçelere ekilir. Tohumları ise genellikle hayvan yemi olarak kullanılır. Türkiye hem kültürü yapılan türler ve onların yabani formları, hem de sınırlı amaçlarla kültürü yapılan acı bakla türleri açısından oldukça zengindir. Lüpen olarak da bilinen bitki, özellikle insan ve hayvan beslenmesindeki kullanımı yanında, doğal ve sağlıklı beslenme amacıyla yürütülen organik tarım uygulamalarında, toprak iyileştirici, bitki koruyucu (biyoinsektisit) ve büyümeyi teşvik edici (biyostimülatör) özelliklerinden dolayı gittikçe değer kazanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada lüpen bitkisinin kullanım olanakları başlıklar halinde incelenmiştir.
