Farklı Besin ve Uçucu Yağların Bombus terrestris’in Yönelimine Etkisi

Year 2020, Volume: 2 Issue: 1, 6 - 11, 25.06.2020

Abstract

Response to different foods and essantial oils of Bombus terrestis

Year 2020, Volume: 2 Issue: 1, 6 - 11, 25.06.2020

Abstract

To develop a large part of the plant crops grown on the earth, pollunators are needed. Among pollunators, bees are the most important group. Bombus bees attract attention because of the fact that they have to be cultivated commercially. B. terrestris, which is used as a commercial pollination agent in many countries including our country, is widely used. B. terrestris is widely used for pollinating many products grown in the greenhouses, especially tomatoes. It may be possible to divert them to whatever we want, by utilizing the properties of different responses to different foods and volatiles. The aim of this study is to measure the responses of B. terrestris to different nutrients and essential oils. For this reason, B. terrestris has been tested with honey, pollen, pollen + honey, lavender, rosemary, pine turpentine, ginger, eucalyptus and oregano. As a result, response rates to honey, pollen, pollen + honey of B. terrestris were 16.20%, 31.53% and 15.34% respectively. 36.93% of bees tended towards control. Response rates to lavender, rosemary, pine turpentine, commercial oil, ginger, eucalyptus and thyme of B. terrestris were 9.22%, 5.27%, 20.54%, 11.72%, 23.44%, 9.75 and 9.68 respectively. 10.38% of bees tended towards control. The bees mostly preferred the ginger.
