Abstract

The purpose of thestudy isto examine themeaningandtheimportance of the80/20ruleforlibraryandinformationscience. Withthis purpose, in ourstudy the theoretical and practicalstudies about the80/20 rule inthe literature of library andinformationscience are dealtwith.Furthermore anexample concerningthe 80/20ruleisgiven. Thedatabase ofour example is 1271 articlespublished onthesubjectof museologythe “TheBibliography ofArticlesinTurkish Periodicals”between 1923-2002.Inourexample,our database was analyzedtotest applicability ofthe80/20 rule. In the resultofthe analysis, it wasfound thatthe 80/20 rule did not applyto our database

80/20 Kuralı

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, 80/20 kuralının kütüphane ve bilgi bilimi açısından anlamını ve önemini incelemektir. Bu amaçla araştırmamızda kütüphane ve bilgi bilimi literatüründe 80/20 kuralına ilişkin teorik ve pratik çalışmalar ele alınmıştır. Ayrıca 80/20 kuralıyla ilgili bir örnek verilmiştir. Örneğimizin veri tabanını, 1923­ 2002 yılları arasında Türkiye Makaleler Bibliyografyası’nda Müzecilik konusunda yayınlanmış 1271 makale oluşturmaktadır. Örneğimizde veri tabanımız, 80/20 kuralının uygulanabilirliğini test etmek amacıyla analiz edilmiştir. Analizimizin sonucunda 80/20 kuralının veri tabanımıza uygulanamayacağı tespit edilmiştir.
