Historical Development And Types Of Cupping Therapy

Abstract

Cupping therapy (hijama), having been applied for thousands of years, is a traditional therapy method aiming the homeostasis of the body, increasing capillary circulation of the dermis and removing toxins by making millimetric incisions and creating negative pressure by different apparatus on the skin. The methods of application, the materials used, the application points, some of the indications and contraindications will be explained together with some mechanisms of action in a general framework.

Kupa Terapisinin Tarihî Gelişimi Ve Çeşitleri

Abstract

Cilt üzerinde milimetrik çizikler atmak ve çeşitli malzemelerden yapılmış aparatlarla negatif basınç oluşturmak sureti ile vücudun hemostazını oluşturma, dermis tabakasındaki kapiller dolaşımı arttırma ve toksinleri uzaklaştırma amaçlı yapılan geleneksel bir tedavi yöntemi olan Kupa terapisi (Hacamat) binlerce yıldır uygulanmaktadır. Kupa terapisi uygulamalarına çeşitli pencerelerden bakıp, uygulama yöntemleri, kullanılan materyaller, uygulama noktaları, endikasyonlarının bir kısmı, kontrendikasyonları ve bazı etki mekanizmaları genel çerçevede aktarılacaktır.
