Developing Job Satisfaction Scale For Turkish Academicians

Abstract

In this study, Job Satisfaction Scale for Academicians (JSSA) has been developed in örder to determine job satisfaction of academicians who perform duty at universities in Turkey, and psychometric properties of the scale have been analysed. The first study group comprises 460; and the second group includes 170 academicians. At the result of . factor analyses, it was observed that items of JSSA were grouped as internal and external. The, split-half, Cronbach-alpha and item-scale correlation coefficients; discrimination powers of items for upper-lower groups were observed to be high. Correlation coefficients between subscales and total score of JSSA and Minnesota Satisfaction Scale are high. These findings indicate that level of validity and reliability of the scale is at a sufficient level.
