Gender and Sex Role in Relation with Attitudes toward Seeking Psychological Help

Abstract

Gender and Sex Role in Re/ation with Attitudes toward Seeking Psychological Help In this study, the injluence of gender and sex role orienÜztion on attitudes toward seeking psychological help was investigated. Five hundred and thirty nine university students completed the Bem Sex Role Inventory and the Attitudes toward Seeking Psychological Help Scale. Results revealed that both gender and sex role were significantly related with psychological help seeking attitudes. The means of attitudes toward seeking psychological help of women were significantly higher than men. Femininity role were significantly correlated with attitudes toward seeking psychological help.
