Parent Involment in Education: Studies in Turkey and in The World

Abstract

The main aim of the education is to contribute to the academic, social and personal development of the individuals. In this process, cooperation between school and family support the home-school consistency. It was pointed out in the literature that this consitency had a positive effect on children’s development. Active parental involvement in the education of children has been very important in all over the world and has been considered as strongly connected with the school system. In Turkey, changes in the educational system in recent years support the idea of active parental involvement in education. In this paper, information about active parental involvement in education of children and parent involvement practices in Turkey and in the world is provided.

Eğitim Sürecinde Aile Katılımı: Dünyada ve Türkiye’deki Çalışmalar

Abstract

Eğitimin temel amaçlarından biri bireylerin akademik, kişisel ve sosyal gelişimlerine en üst düzey-de katkıda bulunmaktır. Bu süreçte okul ve ailenin işbirliği içinde bulunmasının aile-okul tutarlılığını desteklediği ve bu tutarlılığın bireylerin gelişimine olan olumlu etkisi literatürde çeşitli araştırmalarla vurgulanmaktadır. Ailelerin çocuklarının eğitimine aktif olarak katılımı tüm dünyada çok önemsenmekte, okul sisteminin ayrılmaz bir parçası olarak düşünülmektedir. Ülkemizde de eğitim alanında yaşanan değişiklikler ailelerin eğitim sürecine aktif katılımını desteklemektedir. Bu makalede, ailenin çocukların eğitimine aktif katılımı üzerinde durulmuş; dünyada ve ülkemizdeki aile katı-lım çalışmaları hakkında bilgi verilmiştir.
