Abstract

Eski Şark edebiyatı , son yıllarda, Hatay sınırının hemen güneyine düşen, bugünkü adı Ras Şamra, eski adı Ugarit olan yerde elde edilen, kendine has alfabetik bir çivi yazısiyle ve Ken'anca dilinde yazılan efsanelerin ortaya çıkmasiy le oldukça zenginleşmiş bulunuyor. Bu buluntuların önemi hakkında Türkçe olarak 1942'de Prof. Landsberger'in bir yazısı çıkmıştır . Efsaneler, ilk olarak Fransız bilgini Ch. Virolleaud tarafından «Syria» dergisinde ve «Mission de Ras Shamra» adlı ciltlerde çivi yazısı , transkripsiyon ve tercüme halinde ve tafsilatlı izahlarla birlikte yayınlanmıştır
