Abstract
Halep Suriye yakınlarında Fırat'ın bati kıyısında bulunan Jerf el-Ahmar'da PPNA 'dan PPNB'ye geçiş dönemine tarihlenen tabakalarda merkezinde EA 30 Kamu Binasının bulunduğu üç ayrı yerleşim birimi çok net tespit edildi; evler, evleri birleştiren açık alan ve kendi kolektif alanına sahip kamu binası. Sosyal ve ekonomik olarak da merkez konumda olan EA 30 binası yerleşme düzeni içerisinde de merkeze yerleştirilmiş gibi görünmektedir. Bu kamu binası içerisinde ortaya çıkarılan insan kalıntıları ölü gömme adetleri üzerinden yürütülen bazı sosyal organizasyonların da kült binası üzerinde uygulandığını düşündürmekte. Bununla birlikte mutfak olarak tabir edilebilecek bir binanın bulunması topluluğun geneline hitap eden bir mutfak binasının varlığına işaret etmektedir.
