In this study, the Ottoman and Turk’s images in the Russian history textbooks has been examined. For this purpose, the ebook versions of Russian history textbooks over the web has been used. Russian History and General History textbooks from 5 to 11th grades in secondary education has been taken into consideration. The obtained data has been analyzed by descriptive analysis. In Russian History textbooks there are lots of information on Turks and Ottoman Empire. Especially about the Balkan Wars. The textbooks contains a variety of images, maps, and historical resources related to Turkish and Ottoman History. Some parts of Turkish history is presented in details. Due to historical evidence based narration that being used Russian history textbooks are usually written in objective manner. However, they contains some incorrect, exaggerated or intended to otherize information about Turks and Ottomans. Also some textbook visuals has been observed to arouse the other and enemy image
Bu çalışmada Rusya’da tarih ders kitaplarında Türk ve Osmanlı imajı incelenmiştir. Bunun için Rusya’da okutulan tarih ders kitaplarına web ortamında dijital olarak ulaşılmıştır. Çalışmada ortaöğretim 5-11. sınıf Rusya Tarihi ve Genel Tarih ders kitaplarına bakılmıştır. Bu çalışmada her sınıf düzeyi için sadece bir Rus Tarihi ve Genel Tarih ders kitabı incelenmiştir. Elde dilen veriler betimsel analiz yoluyla çözümlenmiştir.
Rusya tarih ders kitaplarında Osmanlı devleti ve Türklerle ilgili pek çok bilgi vardır. Özellikle Balkan savaşları ile ilgili bilgiler çok fazladır. Aynı zamanda Türk ve Osmanlı tarihi ile ilgili çeşitli görseller, haritalar ve kaynaklar kullanılmıştır. Bu kitaplarda ayrıntılı bir şekilde Türk tarihinin bazı kısımları anlatılmıştır. Tarihsel kanıta dayalı anlatımından dolayı Rusya’daki tarih ders kitaplarındaki dil genel olarak nesnel bulunmuştur. Fakat bunun yanında Türkler ve Osmanlılarla ilgili bazen yanlış, abartılmış ve ötekileştirmeye yönelik bilgilere de rastlanmaktadır. Buna ek olarak bazı görsellerle yine öteki ve düşman imajı canlandırılmaya çalışıldığı görülmüştür.

Beginning from Spring 2021 issue TUHED will require all Turkish manuscripts to contain a full-text English translation. Manuscripts submitted in Turkish will be requested to have full-text English translation if they are accepted for publication after the review process.
