Abstract

Bibliometrics is based on the idea that published scientific studies reflect the academic output of a field. In recent years, bibliometric studies examining topics focused on in academic studies and similar statistical information have gained momentum. Such studies statistically analyze data related to publications in academic journals, which are the most effective means of disseminating scientific knowledge, and identify patterns in research outputs, or in other words, density maps. Thanks to bibliometric research, large amounts of data can be examined to concretize the basic characteristics of publications in a specific research field. This study aims to analyze the bibliometric characteristics of articles published in the TUHED journal between 2012 and 2025. This study utilized the document review (documentary screening) method from qualitative research methods and the descriptive analysis technique for data interpretation. Within the scope of the research objective, studies (279 studies) published in the TUHED journal from its first year of publication to the present (2012-2025) were analyzed. All analyzed publications were accessed through Dergipark, the journal's publishing platform. In this study, a data collection form developed by the researcher was used to examine 279 scientific studies published in the TUHED journal between 2012 and 2025 using descriptive analysis methods. The data collection tool was structured to enable the systematic analysis of each publication. The findings of the study include that the TUHED journal has a good citation rate, publishes systematically and continuously every year, the majority of articles have a single author, and Gazi University, Marmara University, and the Ministry of National Education (MoNE) contribute the most to the journal. Furthermore, Marmara University and MoNE stand out as the institutions with the most collaboration. Another finding is that the journal's review period is generally fast. It was determined that the journal mostly publishes research articles but also includes other academic writings.

Turkish History Education Journal (TUHED) dergisinin bibliyometrik analizi: 2012-2025

Year 2025, Volume: 14 Issue: 2, 65 - 81, 26.10.2025
