Information for Authors:

  • APA 7 citation system must be used in the articles.
  • Articles to be submitted to our journal should be sent via a user account opened on DergiPark.
  • Research articles and scientific book reviews are published in Turkish or English.
  • Articles should have an introduction section at the beginning and a conclusion section at the end.
  • Articles, including all tables, figures, references (bibliography), and appendices, should not exceed 6,000-10,000 words.
  • Book reviews should be between 750 and 1,500 words.
  • Articles should be prepared in MS Word using the Cambria font on A4 paper.
  • Main headings and subheadings should be formatted in 11-point bold.
  • The text should be written in 11-point font with 6 pt paragraph spacing and 1.15 line spacing.
  • Articles should include abstracts in both Turkish and English at the beginning.
  • Abstracts should be no more than 250 words and should include the purpose, scope, methodology, and brief conclusions of the article.
  • Abstracts should be written in 9-point font with 6 pt paragraph spacing and single line spacing.
  • A minimum of 3 and a maximum of 7 Turkish and English keywords should be written below the abstracts.
  • The introduction section should be an expanded version of the abstract and should include the purpose, scope, method, and design of the study.
  • In addition, Turkish articles should include an expanded English abstract of 600-750 words.

Author Guidelines
Academic impartiality and scientific quality are important criteria in the evaluation of articles submitted for publication. Therefore, the recommendations of the ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors) and the International Standards for Editors and Authors of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) should be taken into account in scientific articles submitted to the TJMES journal.

General Information:
  • Turkish Journal of African Studies (TUJAS) is an international, peer-reviewed journal that publishes high quality articles on social sciences.
  • TUJAS is published twice a year in April and October.
  • Each author publishes one article per year.
  • The language of the articles can be Turkish or English.
  • The percentage of similarity in the articles should be less than 20% excluding references.
  • Article submissions by e-mail are not accepted.
  • The referee process will not be initiated for manuscripts that do not comply with the journal's spelling rules, without references or abstracts.
  • Ethics committee approval must be obtained for clinical and experimental human and animal research in all fields.
  • Manuscripts for publication should be sent via the "Submit Manuscript" page.

Note: If any Editor sends an article to the journal, the Editor will be denied access to the editorial panel. The Editor follows all processes as an author. After the process is completed, the Editor authority is given back to the Editor.

Required files to be uploaded when submitting an article:

1. WORD document of the article prepared by considering the spelling rules (Author(s) information, name and surname, Orcid(s), responsible author, e-mail(s) must be found.)
2. WORD document of the article prepared considering the spelling rules (There should be no information belonging to the authors. This file will be sent to the referees in accordance with the double-blind refereeing policy.)
3. Copyright Agreement and Author Acceptance Form.

Non-essential files that must be uploaded when submitting an article:

1. It is recommended to upload a plagiarism report to the system.
2. If necessary for the study, the approved version of the Ethics Committee Permit must be uploaded to the system. In addition, this approval (name of the board, date and number) should be stated in the "Article Information Form" at the end of the study and in the method section. Ethics committee permission is requested for all kinds of research conducted with qualitative or quantitative approaches that require data collection from the participants by using survey, interview, focus group work, observation, experiment, and interview techniques, regardless of when the study was conducted.
