Social Media Form of Story Telling: Clubhouse

Year 2021, Issue: 38, 520 - 525, 31.12.2021
https://doi.org/10.17829/turcom.934440

Abstract

Unlike other social networks, Clubhouse does not require users to engage in activities such as text messaging,
video calling or sharing photos and videos. Instead, the app offers real-time streaming voice chat. Users of
this app can listen to real-time conversations, contribute to those conversations, and create their own chat
rooms for others to listen to and interact with. The Clubhouse application, which has become popular
all over the world during the COVID-19 process, is actually an indicator of how much people need an
ordinary, intimate conversation rather than photos or videos sharing. The main tool of the application is
“sound”. According to the brief explanation and considering sound as a medium by Clubhouse, this study
actually suggests that the classical sense of storytelling of the application has been transferred to social media. Finally, this study attempts to briefly evaluate how storytelling started to come to life in social media
through the Clubhouse application.

Hikaye Anlatıcılığının Sosyal Medya Hali: Clubhouse

Year 2021, Issue: 38, 520 - 525, 31.12.2021
https://doi.org/10.17829/turcom.934440
