Copyright and Open Access Policy

As of the December 2024 issue, the Turkish Journal of Health Sciences and Research is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license.

Authors retain the copyright of their work. By submitting to the journal, authors agree to publish their work under the CC BY-NC 4.0 license.

All articles published in the journal are open access, regardless of the funding source of the research, and may be freely shared, copied, reproduced, and adapted for non-commercial purposes, provided appropriate credit is given to the original work.

Ethical Principles

The Turkish Journal of Health Sciences and Research is a peer-reviewed journal committed to publishing high-quality scientific studies in health-related fields including nutrition and dietetics, child development, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, nursing, audiology, health management, social work, and sports sciences.

The journal adheres to the ethical standards and guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) (https://publicationethics.org/).

All submitted manuscripts undergo editorial evaluation and are reviewed by at least two independent reviewers. Accepted articles are published electronically with open access after necessary revisions are completed.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must ensure that:

Submitted manuscripts are original and relevant to the scope of the journal
All sources are properly cited and referenced
The manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere
All authors have made significant contributions to the study
Any conflicts of interest are clearly disclosed
Required data, materials, or additional information are provided upon request
Necessary permissions and approvals (including participant consent) have been obtained
Ethical approval is obtained for studies involving human or animal subjects

For studies requiring ethical approval:

The name of the ethics committee, approval date, and approval number must be stated in the manuscript
The ethics approval document must be uploaded during submission

For case reports:

Informed consent must be obtained and stated in the manuscript

Authors must also:

Provide evidence of ethical data collection practices
Confirm compliance with copyright regulations
Inform the editor promptly if an error is identified in the published work and cooperate in correction or retraction procedures

Ethics committee approval is not required for review articles; however, this must be clearly stated in the manuscript.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

The journal follows a double-blind peer review process. Reviewers and authors remain anonymous to each other.

Reviewers must:

Accept only manuscripts within their area of expertise
Evaluate manuscripts objectively, fairly, and confidentially
Avoid personal or biased comments
Declare any conflicts of interest and decline review if necessary
Complete the review process within the given timeframe
Responsibilities of Editors

Editors and editorial board members must comply with the COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Editors are responsible for:

General Responsibilities
Improving the quality and academic standards of the journal
Supporting academic freedom and integrity
Relations with Readers
Ensuring transparency in journal sections not subject to peer review
Publishing content relevant to the journal’s audience
Relations with Reviewers
Assigning manuscripts to appropriate reviewers
Ensuring reviewers declare conflicts of interest
Maintaining a double-blind review process
Monitoring reviewer performance and timeliness
Updating and maintaining a qualified reviewer database
Relations with Authors
Providing clear and updated author guidelines
Evaluating submissions based on originality, importance, and compliance
Providing clear and unbiased feedback in case of rejection
Informing authors about manuscript status without compromising blind review
Relations with Editorial Board
Informing board members about journal policies
Selecting active and qualified editorial board members
Encouraging contribution to journal development
Responsibilities of the Publisher

The publisher, Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, is a public, non-profit institution committed to academic integrity.

The publisher:

Acknowledges that editorial decisions are the responsibility of the editors
Ensures free, open, and electronic access to journal content


Reporting Ethical Misconduct
