Doğal Kahve Lif Rengine Sahip Pamuk (Gossypium spp.) Melezlerinde (F9) Seleksiyon Başarısı

Year 2019, Volume: 1 Issue: 4, 1 - 12, 10.12.2019

Abstract

Selection Success in Hybrids (F9) Cotton (Gossypium spp.) Having Natural Brown Fibers

Year 2019, Volume: 1 Issue: 4, 1 - 12, 10.12.2019

Abstract

Cotton plant (Gossypium
spp.
) has different natural fiber colors such as brown, green and gray with
white. In this study which conducted in Kahramanmaraş conditions with
randomized blocks design in 2014, representation rates of the single plants
having brown fiber which selected from F9 combinations of them were
determined in terms of seed cotton yield, gin turn out, fiber yield and seven
fiber properties.

As a result of the study, though
the genotypic differences were determined insignificant in terms of fiber
fineness, were found verry important in terms of other characteristics  and the represent ratios of single plants
were found minimum 80.6% (fiber uniformity) and maximum 93.8% (fiber strength).
While the F9 generations that have brown fiber is located between
Giza 45 (Gossypium barbadense L.) and
other parents which having white fiber due to their gin out turn, negatively
had differentiated from parents which having white fiber in terms of fiber
length, strength, maturity and short fiber content.
İt was determined
that all combinations having brown fiber could not compete not only Giza 45 but
other parents having white fiber also in terms of gin out turn. Moreover, these
combinations could not compete with Giza 45 in terms of fiber length, strength
and uniformity ratio also. On the other hand, it was determined that while the Brown
233 hybrid was separated from other hybrids in terms of fiber content, length,
strength, uniformity and seed cotton yield, the Brown 235 had separated due to
seed cotton yield too.
