Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the relation between attitudes of secondary school mathematics teachers' towards technology and their self-confidence in technological pedagogical content knowledge. 57 secondary school mathematics teachers participated in the study as participants. Scale of Attitudes Towards Technology and Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge Confidence Scale were used as data collection tools in the research. Descriptive statistics, simple correlation and linear regression analyzes were used to analyze the data. When the general mean of the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge Self-Confidence Scale and the means of the technological pedagogical content knowledge, technological content knowledge and technology knowledge components were examined, it was understood that they have “moderate” level confidence in themselves. Considering the scores they got from the Scale of Attitudes Towards Technology and its factors, it was understood that their attitudes towards technology were at a "positive" level. It was understood that there is a "moderate", positive and significant relationship between the attitudes of mathematics teachers towards technology and their self-confidence in technological pedagogical content knowledge. In addition, it was understood that teachers' attitudes towards technology were a significant predictor of their technological pedagogical content knowledge self-confidence and that 15% of the total variance of the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge Confidence Scale could be explained by the Scale of Attitudes Towards Technology.
