This study aims to design materials for out-of-school learning activities supported by mobile applications for pre-service teachers, and then evaluate such materials through their use. This case study was conducted with 31 pre-service teachers at the faculty of education at a state university during the 2020-2021 spring term. Material Evaluation, Information Collection, and Reflective Writing Form were used as data collection tools. The scores obtained by the pre-service teachers from the Material Evaluation Form were analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis, and the data obtained from the Information Collection Form and Reflective Writing Form were analyzed using content analysis. In the study, all of the pre-service teachers stated that the materials for mobile application-assisted out-of-school learning environments helped the learners to make their knowledge permanent and increased their interest and motivation in the course. In addition, pre-service teachers emphasize that by using such applications, the technology use competencies of learners can be supported, and they can use technology consciously also. In conclusion, it is recommended to develop similar technology-supported mobile applications that can be used in out-of-school learning activities and to enrich learning environments with these applications.
