Selim Koray Demirel, 2011 yılında Anadolu Üniversitesi İktisat Bölümü İngilizce İktisat Programından mezun oldu. 2015 yılında Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü'nde Yüksek lisansını tamamlayan Demirel, 2023 yılında aynı kurumda doktora eğitimini tamamladı. Demirel, 2023 yılından itibaren Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi'nde Dr. Öğr. Üyesi olarak görev yapmaktadır.
