Manuscripts submitted to the International Journal of Economics and Innovation (IJEI) must be prepared in accordance with the formatting and submission requirements outlined below. Manuscripts that do not comply with these guidelines may be returned to the authors for revision before being considered for scientific evaluation.
1. Manuscript Structure and Abstracts
The manuscript title must be provided in both Turkish and English. Each manuscript must include Turkish and English abstracts of 130-220 words. The abstract should clearly and concisely present the purpose and scope of the study, the data set or sample used, the research method, the main findings, the original contribution, and the conclusions. References, tables, figures, footnotes, and detailed literature discussions should not be included in the abstract. Abbreviations must be written out in full when first used in the abstract. Each abstract must be followed by a minimum of three and a maximum of five keywords that accurately reflect the content of the study.
2. Formatting Requirements
Manuscripts must be submitted as editable Microsoft Word .doc files. Times New Roman must be used throughout the manuscript. The main text must be set in 12-point font, single-spaced, and fully justified. A spacing of 6 pt must be applied before and after each paragraph. Page margins must be set to 4 cm at the top, 3.5 cm at the bottom, and 3.5 cm on both the left and right sides. The manuscript must not exceed 28 pages, including tables, figures, references, and appendices. All pages must be numbered consecutively.
3. Title Page and Author Information
The manuscript title in the language of the article must be written in 14-point bold font and centred. Only the first word and proper nouns should be capitalised. The title in the other language must be presented below the main title using the same formatting. As IJEI operates a double-blind peer-review process, the title page and the anonymised manuscript file must be uploaded separately. The title page must include each author’s full name, academic title, institutional affiliation, ORCID, and email address. The corresponding author must be clearly identified. The anonymised manuscript submitted for peer review must not contain author names, institutional affiliations, contact details, acknowledgements, project information, funding information, or any other details that may reveal the identity of the authors. Author-identifying information must also be removed from the document properties and metadata.
4. Headings and Subheadings
Headings and subheadings must be numbered according to their hierarchical level using the formats 1., 1.1., and 1.1.1. No more than three heading levels should be used. First-, second-, and third-level headings must be written in Times New Roman, 12-point bold font, and aligned to the left. Only the first word and proper nouns should be capitalised. Additional blank lines must not be inserted between headings and the text that follows. Headings must not be left alone at the bottom of a page.
5. Tables, Figures, and Equations
Tables and figures must be numbered separately and consecutively in the order in which they are first cited in the text. Every table and figure must be referred to explicitly in the manuscript. Graphs, charts, maps, diagrams, flowcharts, and all other non-tabular visual materials must be labelled as “Figures.” Table and figure titles must appear above the relevant table or figure and follow the formats: “Table 1: Title of the table” and “Figure 1: Title of the figure.” Table and figure titles must be written in 11-point font. Explanatory notes, additional information, and source details, where applicable, must be provided below the relevant table or figure. Tables must be submitted in an editable format. Figures must be clear, legible, and of sufficient resolution. Tables and figures reproduced or adapted from another source must include an appropriate source citation. Equations must be centred on the page and numbered consecutively in parentheses on the right-hand side. All symbols and variables used in equations must be defined when they first appear.
6. Research and Publication Ethics Statements
At the time of submission, authors must upload a separate Word file entitled📝 Research and Publication Ethics Statements.doc and use the standard declaration texts provided through the relevant link. For studies requiring ethics committee approval, the name of the committee, the date of approval, and the approval or decision number must be stated. Where ethics committee approval is not required, this must be explicitly declared. For research involving human participants, authors must state whether informed consent was obtained. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all declarations are complete and accurate. In accepted articles, the relevant statements will be published at the end of the manuscript, before the reference list. To preserve the integrity of the double-blind peer-review process, information that may reveal the identity of the authors or their institutions must not be included in the anonymised manuscript file.
7. In-Text Citations and References
The journal’s author–date system must be used for in-text citations. General citations must follow the format (Author’s surname, year): (Romer, 1986). Direct quotations or references to a specific page must follow the format (Author’s surname, year: page number): (Romer, 1986: 1020). For works with three or more authors, only the surname of the first author followed by “et al.” must be used. General citations must be presented as (Köse et al., 2006), while direct quotations or references to a specific page must be presented as (Köse et al., 2006: 5). All sources cited in the manuscript must be included under the heading “References” and listed alphabetically in accordance with APA 7 and the journal’s house style.
