A Study About Preservice Teachers Reading Habits: Sampling of Usak Education Faculty

Abstract

In this study is tried to define university students' attitudes towards reading a book and the factors affecting these attitudes. In the research was participated scale was applied to educational faculity students who are from classroom teaching (59 female and 55 male), social sciences teaching (71 female, 55 male), turkish teaching (71 female, 49 male), mathematics teaching ( 21 female, 7 male), science teacher teaching (15 female, 8 male) in total, 420 students were included in the study. In this study it is found that female students have more positive attitude than male students to read books. Generally, it is appeared to according to classes of students have a positive attitude towards reading. it is seemed that students of third classes students have the most positive attitude towards reading and the students of first classes have the most negative attitude towards reading. When the findings are analyzed at level of departments it was determined that the students of all sections are found to have positive attitude toward reading.

Öğretmen Adaylarının Okuma Alışkanlıkları Üzerine Bir Araştırma: Uşak Eğitim Fakültesi Örneği

Abstract

Bu çalışmada üniversite öğrencilerinin kitap okuma alışkanlığına yönelik tutumları ve bu tutumları etkileyen faktörlerin belirlenmesine çalışılmıştır. Araştırmaya Uşak Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesinin Sınıf Öğretmenliği bölümünden 59 kadın, 64 erkek; Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretmenliği bölümünden 71 kadın, 55 erkek; Türkçe Öğretmenliği bölümünden 71 kadın, 49 erkek; Matematik Öğretmenliği bölümünden 21 kadın, 7 erkek; Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliği bölümünden 15 kadın, 8 erkek toplamda ise 420 öğrenci çalışmaya dâhil edilmiştir. Araştırmada kadın öğrencilerinin erkek öğrencilere göre kitap okuma alışkanlığına yönelik daha olumlu tutuma sahip oldukları görülmüştür. Genel anlamda ise sınıflara göre, öğrencilerin okuma alışkanlığına karşı tutumlarının olumlu olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Okuma alışkanlığına karşı en olumlu tutuma 3. sınıf, en olumsuz tutuma ise 1.sınıfların sahip olduğu görülmüştür. Bulgular bölümler düzeyinde incelendiğinde ise tüm bölüm öğrencilerinin okumaya karşı olumlu tutuma sahip oldukları belirlenmiştir.
