Abstract
In this study, it is aimed to determine the effect of text type (narrative text and expository text) on reading comprehension and attitude to text of five grade students. For this aim, 601 five grade students were sampled and questionnaire form developed by researcher was applied. At the result of the study, it is observed that there is no significant difference with students’ attitudes narrative text and expository text. However students understand narrative text better than expository text.

OKUDUĞUNU ANLAMA VE METNE KARŞI GELİŞTİRİLEN TUTUM ÜZERİNDE METNİN BİLGİ VERİCİ VEYA HİKÂYE EDİCİ OLMASININ ETKİSİ
Abstract
Bu arastırmada ilköğretim besinci sınıfa devam eden öğrencilerin okuduğunu anlamaları ve metne karsı gelistirdikleri tutumları üzerinde metin türünün (bilgi verici ve hikâye edici olmak üzere) etkisinin tespit edilmesi amaçlanmıstır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda toplam 601 besinci sınıf öğrencisi örneklem olarak alınmıs ve bu öğrencilere arastırmacı tarafından gelistirilen anket formu uygulanmıstır. Arastırma sonucunda öğrencilerin hikâye edici ve bilgi verici metinlere karsı gelistirdikleri olumlu tutum arasında anlamlı bir fark olmadığı görülmüstür. Ancak öğrenciler, hikâye edici metinleri bilgi verici metinlere göre daha iyi anlamaktadırlar.
