Abstract

The concept of “sign” is one of the key concepts in the philosophy of language. As is well known, American philosopher Charles Sanders Peirce’s thought about this concept is very important in the “history of sign”. The main aim of this study is to explain Peirce’s principal distinctions and categorizations in connection with the concept of sign, by focusing especially on some terms such as “icon”, “index” and “symbol”.

CHARLES SANDERS PEIRCE’İN GÖSTERGE KAVRAMI

Abstract

“Gösterge” kavramı dil felsefesinin anahtar kavramlarından biridir. Gösterge kavramının tarihi içerisinde Amerikalı düsünür Charles Sanders Peirce’ün görüsleri oldukça önemlidir. Düsünürün “görüntüsel gösterge”, “belirti” ve “sembol” kavramlarına özel olarak odaklanılmıs olan bu çalısmanın temel amacı, Peirce’ün gösterge kavramındaki temel ayrımlarının ve sınıflamalarının açıklanmasıdır.
