Abstract
The primary focus of this study is to define the factors within the relationship between technology and art. In terms of the research context, the stated relationship has been stated within two chapters. The first one reflects the artist while using the technology; and the second one is the technology’s contribution to production of art. Essential step is to describe the concepts of art and technology, which both carry long history through human life. In the first chapter, the beginnings and developments of art concept were analyzed; the unique relationship between the art work and its creator were also stated. Secondly, the relationship between human beings and technology was analyzed through reflection of technology. Artist questions the time period in all times. It is the same for today’s artists. One might also suggest that the era of technology captured human beings as hostage. In this case, the question is if the artist are really under the influence of technology. On the other hand, were they using the possibilities of technology while producing their works as their responses? While providing answers to these questions, contemporary art’s prime purposes will be reflected and effect of technology will also be analyzed.

Abstract
Bu araştırmanın sorununu, teknolojinin sanat ile olan ilişkisindeki etkenlerin belirlenmesi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma kapsamında teknoloji sanat ilişkisi iki bölümde sınırlandırılmıştır. Birincisi sanatçının eserini üretirken kullandığı teknoloji, ikinci olarak da teknolojinin sanatın yaratım sürecine olan etkisidir. Öncelikli olarak insanlık kadar eski olan sanat ve teknoloji kavramlarının tanımlanması gerekmektedir. Bu yüzden birinci bölümde sanat olgusunun ortaya çıkması ve kavram olarak gelişmesi incelenmiş ve sanatı oluşturan sanat eseri ve sanatçı kavramlarının ne gibi etkileşimlerde bulunarak sanatı ortaya çıkardığı araştırılmıştır. Gkinci olarak da teknoloji kavramı üzerinde durularak teknoloji insan ilişkisi irdelenmiştir. Sanatçı yaşadığı her dönemde çağını sorgulamıştır. Günümüz sanatçısı için de durum böyledir. Çağın, teknoloji çağı olması insanlığı bir ölçüde teknolojinin esiri konumuna da getirdiği düşünülmektedir. Burada akla gelen soru günümüzde sanatçılar ürünlerini ortaya koyarken teknoloji tarafından esir mi alınmışlardır? Yoksa tepkisini gösterirken teknolojinin olanaklarını mı kullanmak zorundadır? Bu soruların yanıtları aranırken çağımız sanatının amaçları ortaya konmaya çalışılacak ve bunda teknolojinin etkisi ortaya konmaya çalışılacaktır.
