Abstract
During the period of modernization in the Ottoman Empire, many innovations emerged in the light of social and political developments. While these innovations penetrated every aspect of society, a struggle began for the improvement of the social rights of women in the Ottoman Empire. In this study, the efforts and developments of women's social and political rights in the Ottoman Modernization period will be evaluated in the context of the feminist approach. Starting with the proclamation of the Tanzimat II until the Constitutional Monarchy, It will be examined how the feminist approach was perceived in the Ottoman society and how it spread to the women's movements in the process. Content analysis method, one of the research methods in social sciences, will be used in the study. Evaluation will be made on primary and secondary sources. The focus of the study will be to explain women's movements in the Ottoman modernization period through the feminist approach.
