Abstract
Considering all aspects of communication, it finds itself in four basic skills in the language. These skills are listening, reading, speaking and writing, respectively. In this study, the listening skill, which is the first language skill that the individual acquired and which is thought to be ignored for years, is discussed. In this study, articles on listening from 2017 to December 2019 were researched and 42 articles in total were examined. These articles are; categorized in terms of year, subject, sample and method and various comments were made. The research conducted is a qualitative study and was shaped by the document review method. The data obtained by document analysis are classified by content analysis. The data were obtained from Google Scholar, Dergipark and Yök Academic databases. Only the keyword "listening" was used in the research. As a result of the research, it has been determined that studies about listening in preschool and primary school age are very few. This result is very thought provoking because listening is known to be the first skill acquired in the individual. The most discussed topic in the articles examined is method-type and techniques in listening. The quantitative method was used the most in these studies. When the sample groups of the studies obtained were examined, it was seen that the most studies were conducted with secondary school students.
