Abstract
This research was conducted to determine the differentiation status of the level of professional dedication towards the medical profession of Medical Faculty students according to some variables and its effect on academic achievement. The research sample consists of a total of 302 people studying at Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine. In the research, descriptive survey and relational survey models, which are quantitative research techniques, are used. The data were collected by survey method through online platforms and face to face. The collected data are analyzed through SPSS and AMOS programs. According to the results of the research, it is found that the levels of professional dedication of women compared to men, those who voluntarily preferred medical school compared to others, those who have a domestic work plan compared to those who have a work plan abroad, those who have a specialization goal compared to those who do not have a specialization goal, and those who plan to work in public or universities compared to other groups are found to be significantly higher. On the other hand, there is no significant difference in the level of professional dedication according to age, class and being a doctor in family or not. In addition, there is a positive and significant correlation between the level of professional dedication and academic achievement, and the level of professional dedication positively affects academic achievement.
