ÖĞRENCİLERİN İŞ KAVRAMINDA POZİTİFLİK-NEGATİFLİK AYRIMI BECERİLERİNİN YAZI VE ÇİZİM METODUYLA ORTAYA ÇIKARILMASI

Abstract

Kuvvet kavramına ait doğru bir anlayış, iş kavramı açısından belirleyici bir önem taşır. Bir cisim üzerinde yapılan negatif işin pozitif işten ayırt edilebilme becerisi hem kuvvetin bir vektörel nicelik olarak algılanmasına hem de vektörler arasındaki skaler çarpımın iyi anlaşılmasına bağlıdır. Dolayısıyla, bu konu üzerinde öğrencilerin inançlarını ortaya çıkaracak yöntemleri belirlemek gerekir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, öğrencilerin iş kavramı hakkındaki temel bilgilerini ifade ve çizim yöntemiyle ortaya çıkarıp kavram yanılgıları düzeylerini karşılaştırmaktır. Bu çalışmaya, Elektronik-Bilgisayar ve Mekatronik Eğitimi Bölümü’ne devam eden toplam 200 öğrenci katılmıştır. Öğrencilerden, örnek verilen 7 olay arasından seçtikleri bir olayda yapılan pozitif ve negatif işler hakkında bildiklerini hem yazılı hem de çizimle ifade etmeleri istenmiştir. Bu uygulama öğrencilere final sınavında sorulan 4 sorunun devamında sorulmuş olup öğrencilerin sınav notuna etkisi olacağı vurgulanmıştır. Araştırmanın sonunda, çizim metodunun öğrencinin temel bilgisini ve kavram yanılgılarını ortaya çıkarmaya yardımcı olup yazılı ifadelerin sonucunu doğruladığı görülmüştür.

REVEALING DISCRIMINATION SKILLS OF STUDENTS BETWEEN POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE WORK BY WRITING AND DRAWING METHOD

Abstract

A proper understanding about the force concept has a diagnostic significance on the work concept. Ability to distinguish negative work from positive work is related to a clear understanding of force as a vector quantity and the skaler product of vectors. Therefore, it is necessary to determine methods to reveal student beliefs on these subjects. Purpose of this study is to determine basic knowledge of students about the work concept using drawing method and compare misconception levels between written and drawn expressions. 200 students attending to Electronic-Computer and Mechatronics Education Departments in Technical Education Faculty of SDU are involved in this study. Students were asked to express by both writing and drawing what they knew about work done by the forces exerted on bodies in the event that they select from given 7 examples. This application has been an additional question to the fist 4 questions in the final examination to make them consider in an earnest way. From the results, drawing method has been found to be a complementary way of revealing basic comprehension levels and misconceptions.
