Multidirectional Shoulder Instability With Quadrilateral Space Syndrome: A Case Report

Abstract

Quadrilateral space is an anatomical region which is localized behind and inferior to the shoulder and axillary nerve and posterior humeral circumflex artery cross through this space. The compression of axillary nerve on posterior humeral artery within this anatomical region is called the quadrilateral space syndrome. Clinically, this syndrome is characterised by poorly localized anterior and lateral shoulder pain and paresthesia and the symptoms are aggrevated by the forced abduction, outer rotation and flexion of the shoulder. In the literature, there is no report on quadrilateral space syndrome with shoulder instability. In this study; we present a 28-year-old man with shoulder instability and quadrilateral space syndrome whom was treated by surgery.
