The Thoughts of the Students and the Employees on Medical Terminology

Abstract

Current study aims to determine the thoughts of the students and employees on medical terminology which is necessary to communicate and pursue the developments on medical platforms. This study was conducted on 347 students from Vocational School of Health Services and 74 employees from the Hospital of Medical Faculty of Uludag University. The data were collected by a Likerts questionnaire form. On the point of necessity of the medical terminology classes, both the students and the employees expressed it is necessary for their career (%74,2, %79.7, respectively). Both the students and the employees said they advance benefits from medical terminology classes at their works or internships (%65.1, %71.6). Additionally, the employees expressed, they sometimes have difficulty to understanding the written material (%41.9) and usually ask for help from others (%56.7). Within these results, we think the feedbacks are valuable for development and progress of the syllabus of the medical terminology.

Tıbbi Terminoloji Hakkında Öğrencilerin ve Çalışanların Görüşleri

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, öğrencilerin ve çalışanların tıbbi platformlardaki gelişmelerin takip edilmesi ve iletişim kurulabilmesi için gerekli olan Tıbbi Terminoloji hakkındaki görüşlerini almaktır. Çalışmaya, Uludağ Üniversitesi Sağlık Hizmetleri Meslek Yüksekokulunda okuyan 347 öğrenci ve Tıp Fakültesi Hastanesinin çeşitli birimlerinde çalışan 74 personel katılmıştır. Veriler Likert tipi ölçek içeren anket formları vasıtasıyla elde edilmiştir. Tıbbi Terminoloji dersinin gerekliliği konusunda öğrenciler ve çalışanlar tıbbi terminolojinin meslekleri açısından gerekli olduğunu (sırasıyla %74,2, %79,7) belirtmiştir. Hem okuyan grup hem çalışan grup stajda veya meslek hayatında Tıbbi Terminoloji dersinin faydasını gördüklerini belirtmiştir (%59,9, %71,6). Bunlara ek olarak, çalışanların %41,9u tıbbi materyalleri okumakta bazen güçlük çektiklerini %56,7si ise diğer çalışanlardan yardım aldıklarını ifade etmiştir. Tüm bu veriler ışığında, yapılan anket çalışmasından elde edilen ve değerlendirilen geri bildirimlerin Tıbbi Terminoloji dersinin sürdürülmesi ve müfredatın geliştirilmesi için önemli olduğu kanaatindeniz.
