Osmanlı döneminde beldelerin şehir hüviyetini kazanmasında vakıfların rolü yadsınamaz bir gerçektir. Osmanlı coğrafyasının birçok şehrinin mamur bir hale dönüşmesinde en önemli pay şüphesiz vakıflara aittir. Zira bir çok şehir, inşa edilen vakıf cami, bedesten, darüşşifa, çarşı gibi hayrat ve akar binaların etrafında oluşan mahallelerle şehirleşme sürecini tamamlamıştır. Bu çalışmada, Gümüşhane’nin şehirleşmesine katkıda bulunan, ‘Gümüşhane ve Keban Madenleri Emini’ lakabıyla bilinen “Sadullah Efendi”nin vakıflarına ana hatlarıyla değinildikten sonra adı geçen vakıf kurucusunun Gümüşhane’de yaptırdığı cami, bu camiye vakfedilen taşınmazlar, camide görev yapan kişiler ve caminin tarihi süreci vakfiye başta olmak üzere diğer arşiv belgeleriyle ortaya konulmaya çalışılacaktır.
The role of awqaf in gaining the identity of a civilized city during the Ottoman period is an undeniable fact. The most important share no doubt belongs to awqaf in the formation of prosperous cities in the Ottoman geography. The cities completed their development and urbanization adventure around waqf külliye (complex) and other mosques, bedesten (a covered bazaar), darüşşifa (hospital), bazaars, charitable and real estate buildings. In this study, after shortly dealing with Sadullah Efendi who was the Ottoman official fiduciary of Gümüşhane and Keban Mines and contributed to the Ottoman urbanization, it will be dwelled on his mosque, real estates founded for this mosque, functionaries in the mosques and the historical adventure of the mosque in the light of archival documents, mainly charter of waqf.

The articles sent to the Journal of Waqfs with a request for publication are subject to preliminary examination by the Editorial Board and at least two academicians who are experts in their fields are sent for review. The copyright of the articles accepted to be published in the Journal of Waqfs with the referee reports and the decision of the Editorial Board is deemed to have been transferred to the General Directorate of Foundations, and a royalty fee is paid to the published articles in accordance with the relevant legislation.
