Beta-Glukanın Hayvan Beslemedeki Rolü

Abstract

Antibiyotikler yem katkı maddesi olarak hayvan beslemede uzun yıllar kullanılmıştır. Fakat son yıllarda antibiyotiklerin hayvan beslemede kullanılmasının olumlu sonuçları yanında, bazı olumsuz sonuçları nedeniyle araştırmacılar bu maddelerin yerine kullanılabilecek alternatif yem katkı maddeleri üzerinde çalışmalara yoğunlaşmıştır. Antibiyotiklere alternatif olarak kullanılan yem katkı maddelerinden bir tanesi beta-glukandır (β- glukan). β-glukan; bakteri, maya, mantar ve likenler ile arpa, yulaf ve çavdar gibi tane yemlerin hücre duvarlarından elde edilen ve nişasta olmayan bir polisakkarittir (NOP). Son zamanlarda; hem hayvanlar üzerindeki olumlu etkilerinden, hem de antibiyotikler gibi olumsuz etkileri olmadığından βglukana olan ilgi artmıştır. Bu derlemede; β-glukanın hayvan beslemede immun sistem, performans ve kan parametreleri üzerine olan etkilerinden bahsedilecektir

Role of Beta Glucan in Animal Nutrition

Abstract

Antibiotics, as feed additive, have been used in animal nutrition for many years. But, in addition to the positive results of the antibiotic usage in recent years, because of some negative results, investigators have focused on alternative feed additives which can be used instead of these feed stuffs. β-glucan is one of the feed additives which is used as an alternative to antibiotics. β-glucan is a non-starch polysaccharide which is obtained from bacteria, yeast, mushroom, lichen and from cell walls of the feed grains like barley, corn and rye. Lately; β-glucan starts getting more popular due to both it has positive effects on animals and it doesn’t cause negative effects like antibiotics. In this review; it will be discussed β-glucan’s effects on immune system, performance and blood parameters in animal nutrition
