Golden Retriever ırkı bir köpekte uygunsuz alan savunma agresyonu ve sahiplenici agresyonun davranış terapisi ile tedavisi

Abstract

Bu olguda, Ankara Üniversitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Fizyoloji Anabilim Dalı’na getirilen ve sahiplerine karşı agresyon (saldırganlık) gösteren 1 yaşlı kısırlaştırılmamış erkek Golden Retriever ırkı bir köpekte uygulanan davranış terapisi sunulmaktadır. Hasta sahibinden alınan anamnez ve yapılan gözlemler doğrultusunda köpekte uygunsuz alan savunma agresyonu ve sahiplenici agresyon problemi olduğu belirlenmiştir. Köpeğe özgü olarak hazırlanmış ve köpek sahibinin eğitimini de içeren davranış terapisi düzenli olarak 2 ay süre ile uygulanmıştır. Bu süre sonunda köpeğin şikayet konusu olan davranışlarında önemli derecede düzelmeler tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, davranış terapisinin doğru şekilde uygulanmasının köpeklerde şiddetli alan savunma agresyonu ve sahiplenici agresyonun tedavisinde etkili olduğu kanısına varılmıştır

Treatment of inappropriate territorial and possessive aggression in a Golden Retriever using behavior therapy

Abstract

In this case, a behavior therapy applied to a 1 year old male intact Golden Retriever which was brought to the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine,
Ankara University with a complaint of
aggression towards its owners was presented.
Considering the anamnesis provided by the
dog owner as well as clinical observations, the
dog was diagnosed with inappropriate territorial
and possessive aggression. The behavior
therapy which also included owner education
was applied to the dog for 2 months regularly.
At the end of this period, a significant improvement
was observed in concerning behaviors
of the dog. In conclusion, results of this case
report show that behavior therapy is effective
in treatment of serious territorial and possessive
aggressions in dogs in case of applying it
in a suitable way.
