Plagiarism Policy

ViraVerita E-Journal adheres to the ethical principles set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in all matters related to publication ethics. In this context, COPE’s flowcharts serve as guidelines in cases of suspected ethical violations or misconduct. Additionally, ViraVerita E-Journal is committed to complying with the provisions of Law No. 5846 on Intellectual and Artistic Works, as well as the Directive on Scientific Research and Publication Ethics issued by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) in Turkey. By submitting their work for evaluation, authors acknowledge and accept these ethical principles and agree to have their manuscripts evaluated accordingly. In light of these principles:

1. All manuscripts submitted to the journal are screened for plagiarism and similarity using the intihal.net detection tool, which is fully integrated into the DergiPark submission platform.
2. As a result of the screening process, the acceptable plagiarism/similarity threshold is set at a maximum of 10%, excluding references and endnotes.
3. For manuscripts derived from theses or dissertations, the acceptable similarity threshold is set at a maximum of 20%, excluding references and endnotes.
4. Manuscripts that exceed the specified plagiarism/similarity thresholds will not be accepted for peer review, and the author will be notified accordingly. Upon receiving this notification, the author may revise the manuscript to meet the stated similarity requirements and resubmit it for evaluation. If the similarity rate still exceeds the limits in the second screening, the manuscript will be rejected by the editorial board’s decision.
5. Issue editors reserve the right to conduct additional checks for plagiarism, content similarity, or ethical violations at any stage of the publication process.

Plagiarism and Ethical Violations Detected Post-Publication:
• The editor reserves the right to retract the article if plagiarism or any ethical violation is identified in the published works.
• If an article is retracted, the editor will specify whether this was due to plagiarism or an ethical violation, and the reason will be communicated to all readers.
