The purpose of the study is determined as revealing the effect of emotional intelligence levels of students studying associate degree on self-expression communication skills. In addition, it is aimed to investigate whether there is a difference between the emotional intelligence levels and sub-dimensions of the students, self-expression communication skills and demographic characteristics. The data is collected from 181 participant students studying in social sciences departments at Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University, Hayrabolu Vocational School, and analyzed and interpreted through survey techniques and SPSS 20 package program. Descriptive statistics, exploratory factor and reliability analysis, correlation and regression analysis and Mann-Whitney U test are utlised to analyze the data. According to the results of the research; emotional intelligence levels of associate degree students significantly and positively affects their self-expression communication skills; it is observed that emotional intelligence and its sub-dimensions differ between the sub-dimensions of evaluating their own emotions, the use of emotions, and the students' receiving communication lesson, and in terms of self-expression communication skills and gender, classroom and communication course taking. Therefore, it is concluded that individuals with high emotional intelligence have the communication skills to express themselves better.
