Knowledge sharing, which has an important role in the development of professions, would enable academicians to display high-level performance as an active role in the advancement of science. However, as the information that provides sustainable competitive advantage for organizations is shared, it would increase individual performance and create positive organizational outputs. In this context, it is aimed to examine self-discipline, a personality trait, which is an important determinant of job performance, in the context of knowledge sharing tendency. In order to test the research hypotheses, data are collected from the academic staff working at 15 state universities in the Aegean region by online survey method. Analyzes are carried out with 420 questionnaires remaining from the obtained questionnaires. Hayes Process Macro, which is used as an add-on to the IBM SPSS 22.0 package program, is used to evaluate the connections between the variables. As a result of the research, it is concluded that the knowledge sharing tendency has a mediating role in the self-discipline and job performance relationship.
