Bibliometric and Social Network Analysis of Fintec and Blockchain Investments in Green Finance

Abstract

The aim of the study is to analyze and project financial technology (fintech) and blockchain investments and research trends in green finance. For this purpose, 634 publications in the Scopus database between 2019 and 2024 are analyzed by bibliometric analysis method. The data obtained are mapped in the VOSviewer program. In the study, the distribution of publications according to their types, fields, years, sources, authors, institutions, countries and geographical regions are classified. As a result of the study, it is determined that the number of publications and citations on fintech and blockchain investments in green finance has gained momentum since 2023, and the studies are mostly published in the fields of economics, business and finance as article types. It is concluded that the journals with the highest number of publications on fintech and blockchain investments within the scope of green finance cover topics such as environmental policies, sustainability, financial analysis and innovation. In addition, China, India and Pakistan are found to be among the countries with the highest number of publications in the field, and Türkiye is found to be among the top 10 countries contributing the most to the field. It is predicted that future studies on blockchain and fintech investments in the field of green finance would intensify and the study is considered important in terms of revealing the current situation and trends in the field.

Yeşil Finansta Fintek ve Blockchain Yatırımlarına İlişkin Bibliyometrik ve Sosyal Ağ Analizi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, yeşil finansta, finansal teknoloji (fintek) ve blockchain yatırımlarını ve araştırma eğilimlerini analiz ederek projeksiyon oluşturmaktır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, Scopus veri tabanında 2019-2024 yılları arasında yer alan 634 yayın bibliyometrik analiz yöntemiyle incelenmiştir. Elde edilen veriler, VOSviewer programında haritalandırılmıştır. Çalışmada, yayınların türlerine, alanlarına, yıllarına, kaynağına, en çok katkı sağlayan yazar, kurum, ülke ve coğrafik bölgelerine göre dağılımları tasnif edilmiştir. Çalışmanın sonucunda, yeşil finansta fintek ve blockchain yatırımlarına ilişkin yapılan yayınların ve atıf sayılarının 2023 yılından itibaren ivme kazandığı, çalışmaların daha çok makale türü olarak ekonomi, işletme ve finans alanlarında yayımlandığı tespit edilmiştir. Yeşil finans kapsamında fintek ve blockchain yatırımlarına ilişkin en fazla yayına sahip dergilerin çevre politikaları, sürdürülebilirlik, finansal analiz ve inovasyon gibi konuları kapsadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bununla birlikte alanda en fazla yayın yapan ülkeler arasında Çin, Hindistan ve Pakistan olduğu saptanmış, Türkiye’nin de alana en çok katkı sağlayan ilk 10 ülke arasında yer aldığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Yeşil finans alanında blockchain ve fintek yatırımlarına yönelik gelecek çalışmaların yoğunlaşacağı öngörülmekte olup çalışmanın, alana yönelik mevcut durum ve eğilimleri ortaya koymak açısından önemli olduğu düşünülmektedir.
